Reading the course reader made me aware of how little I knew about web 2.0 and how much I use it in my everyday life.
web 1.0 a one way communication between creator and reader.
web 2.0 provides the opportunity for the reader and creator to interact and more importantly, for reader to become the creator.
Unaware that using facebook or twitter would make me apart of creating, encouraging and having social interactions with these networks makes me want to explore and have more interest in social networking as it has a part and a huge effect in my life.
'Originating in hip-hop and rap music, the notion that materials can be reused and rearranged for a new purpose is central to Web 2.0, where we as users share photos, music, text, ideas and opinions and 'riff off' each other to maintain and nurture dialogues'Laura Ann Wright mansions how she uses this to change her photography on her facebook page and she's right everyone does, I have used it to change and rearrange my photo's add music to my page and share with friends. I also use it by choosing what my friends and family are allowed to view on my page.
It goes to shows how much technology now has a huge impact in our everyday lives, the times being spent on these networks ( average minutes per month on FB 500 billion), the same amount of time that could be used to write a letter or spend time with family and friends but instead I choose to use it on the social network. It allows me to re connect with family abroad or at home which is a wonderful thing. I sum times prefer to connect with my sister threw facebook rather than knocking on her door a couple steps away from mine.
I realise that social networking has giving me a lot in life, allowing me to reunite with old and new friends, reconnecting with family's, allowing you to view the and have an insight in other people's life's and seeing the world in a different way all which I have been doing by use the web 2.0 but was unaware off.
Being on this course I hope to gain allot more and have a better knowledge on these subjects and can reflect on the choices I make when using web 2.0.
